 Welcome to my Blog:

This blog will be used to document the various skills and concepts that I will be learning this semester in CP5070 [Chemical Product Design & Development]

I am pretty excited for this module as the staple of it would be to learn how to create objects using a 3D printer. 3D printing has come a long way and is now able to be used for a multitude of purposes ranging from foods to mechanical components. The latter of which is especially applicable to my group's project idea of a self-cooker as that involves many pieces.

My Personal Goals:

The main goal that I wish to achieve by the end of this module is to be proficient or at least comfortable in using Fusion360 to create models that can be 3D printed. This is my #1 priority as not only do I personally find it quite fun but it will be an increasingly desirable skill in the workforce as the technology advances and more and more things can be accomplished with the aid of 3D printing.

Apart from the hard skills, soft skills are also equally, if not more important when in the workforce and hence I would like to take this opportunity to improve on my team communication skills as I will be working with other people towards a common goal.

Strategies to Help Achieve my Goals:

Practice makes Perfect and computed aided design [CAD] is no exception. Apart from the class activities and project work. I can take the time to explore Fusion360 on my own, this will not only help me to hone in on my pre-existing skills but may also allow me to discover new features that can expand the possibilities of what I can do within the programme.

Communication is Key and this module revolves around working with a team towards a common goal, hence I will be able to improve on my team communication skills by simply participating actively when we meet up. Soft skills such as problem solving, resolving conflict and teamwork will all be required and hence nurtured throughout the module.

How do I tell if I have Achieved my Goals:

I will know that my CAD skills have improved when I am able to complete all kinds of models ranging from simple to complex in a timely manner.

I will know that my team communication skills have improved when team work be it in this module or others goes more smoothly as a result of a better team environment.
